Dr. Gregg Wilkerson

Paleontology

Gregg is on the technical advisory board for the Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and had mapped and described fossil deposits throughout California. He documented unauthorized fossil thefts at the Rosemond Mammoth Beds in 2006, and is working with Kern County officials to develop a paleontological ordinance for Kern County. He is a partner with several organizations in mapping the Shark Tooth Hill Bone Bed, a world class deposit of Miocene marine and non-marine vertebrate fossils that also contains several important plant remains.
